Fixing "empty / invalid HS code" errors

This error means at least one line item has no HS code, or a code that isn't a valid 4- or 8-digit tariff line. ZIMRA rejects the document until every line is classified.

How to fix it now

1. Open the document and find the flagged line.
2. Use the HS Code Finder to get a valid 4- or 8-digit code for that product.
3. Add the code to the line and fiscalise again.

How to stop it happening again

• Assign an HS code to every catalogue item so lines are never blank at the till.
• Watch for ad-hoc / "miscellaneous" lines — they still need a code.
• If you import invoices (Excel/CSV or an accounting connector), make sure the HS-code column is mapped and filled.
