OptimoPOS (Android)
An Android till that rings up sales, prints to a Bluetooth printer, and fiscalises.
1. What this app is
OptimoPOS is a point-of-sale app for Android phones and tablets. It rings up sales, prints receipts to a Bluetooth thermal printer, and fiscalises each sale through PI Fiscal. It is made for a busy counter.
2. Before you start
- An Android phone or tablet.
- The OptimoPOS app (APK) from the portal or the link support sent you.
- A Bluetooth thermal receipt printer (48 mm), charged and switched on.
- Your PI Fiscal sign-in.
3. Installing the app
- Open the download link on the device and download the APK.
- Tap the file to install. If Android asks, allow installation from this source.
- Open OptimoPOS and sign in with your PI Fiscal details.
4. Pairing your receipt printer
- Turn the printer on and make it discoverable (see its manual — often holding the feed button).
- In Android Settings → Bluetooth, pair the printer.
- In OptimoPOS, open Settings → Printer, pick the printer, and print a test slip.
5. Turning on fiscalisation
- Open Settings and connect to your PI Fiscal account.
- On the sales screen, switch Fiscalisation on. When it is on, each completed sale is sent to ZIMRA and the receipt is printed with its QR code.
6. Making a sale
- Tap items to add them to the cart (adjust quantities as needed).
- Tap Charge and choose how the customer pays (cash or another method).
- Complete the sale. With fiscalisation on, the receipt is fiscalised and printed with the fiscal number and QR code.
7. Reprints and PDFs
Open the sale from the Orders list and choose Reprint for another 48 mm slip, or Share PDF for an A4 copy. A reprint keeps the original fiscal number.
8. Security and backups
Your sign-in and the fiscal key are stored encrypted on the device, and app backups are switched off so your data cannot be pulled out through a device backup. Keep the device locked with a PIN or fingerprint.
9. Troubleshooting
- Printer not found — re-pair it in Android Bluetooth settings, then pick it again in OptimoPOS.
- Receipt printed but no QR — fiscalisation was off, or the sale queued offline; check the connection and the Orders list.
- Sale won't fiscalise — confirm you are signed in, a device/day is available, and you have internet; queued sales send automatically when back online.
